Red’s Holiday Beer and Song Pairings
There is no better time to sip and sing along, because Red’s Beer Garden is offering the perfect beer and song pairings to celebrate the season. Whether beer lovers want to dine in at the local haunt or take their beers to go, Kristen Sumpter, Red’s owner and beer connoisseur, has revealed her must-try holiday brews and playlist as we close out 2022.
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Gene Autry – Bluejacket, Run Rudolph Run, Imperial Milk Stout.
It makes sense to pair this song with the reindeer himself plastered on the beer can, but that innocent red nose will be extra bright after indulging in this 10% knockout. Reminiscent of a decadent holiday dessert, this stout is swirling with creamy vanilla, maple, hazelnut, and milk chocolate flavors.
Mistletoe and Wine, Cliff Richard – Deschutes Jubelale, Winter Ale
This tune was the #1 Christmas song in 1988 – the very first year Deschutes’ Jubelale was released. The brewers hand-bottled and labeled their first batch with some used champagne bottles they found (don’t worry, they gave them a good scrub down). Thirty-four years later, this winter ale is a staple every season, but who knows what happened to poor ole Cliff.
Let It Snow, Frank Sinatra – Delirium Noel, Winter Ale.
With Noel’s chestnut color paired with its sweet and spicy flavor profile, this beer tastes like a liquid Christmas fruit cake – and is a belly warmer, through and through. So go ahead, let it snow! Because we’re all nice and toasty.
Carol of the Bells, Trans-Siberian Orchestra – Rebel Peppermint Mocha Hard Latte
Picture it – it’s Christmas Eve, the pecan pies are finally in the oven, and there’s still all the gifts to wrap before Santa arrives. It’s exhausting, but all that’s needed is two things to power through: Carol of the Bells on repeat and a few of these hard lattes. With 5% alcohol and a solid amount of coffee, it’ll be Christmas before you know it.
Christmas Wrapping, The Waitresses – TrimTab Holiday Ale, Berliner Weisse
Bah, humbug! Forgot the cranberries too? Look no further! Just drink this cranberry spiced sour, and Christmas will have a very happy ending. Who knows, the night may even include a festive saxophone solo. All beers mentioned can be found at Red’s Beer Garden. Red’s Beer Garden will be open from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Christmas Eve and from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Christmas Day. Red’s Beer Garden is located at 1328 Boulevard SE, Atlanta, Ga 30315.
