Distillery of Modern Art is Now Open
Built on a foundation of experiences, Distillery of Modern Art is an amalgamation of distillery, gallery, event space, covered patio, and cocktail lounge. Guests are invited to immerse themselves in this purpose-driven concept, which showcases art in many forms, and challenges perceptions of what a craft distillery is and what it can be. Going beyond what is in the bottle, the 15,000-square foot space is a modern art gallery with showcases and installations featuring local artists. Additionally, the walls are lined with pieces from Atlanta artists commissioned to create works for the labels on Distillery of Modern Art’s bottles.
Moving into the bar area, this is where the spirits come alive as our bartenders and staff practice the art of hospitality. While Distillery of Modern Art provides the setting and experiences for its guests, it also includes three private event spaces to allow parties of all sizes to craft their own memorable occasions. In short, Distillery of Modern Art is an accessible meeting of both art and spirit.
True to its name, this is a distillery which that warrants putting the spotlight on the seven distinct spirits. Shaped by a passionate and hardworking team, each is created for connoisseurs, spirit lovers, and casual drinkers. Atlanta Vodka, Peach Flavored Vodka- made with Georgia-grown peaches, Bourbon Whiskey, Corn Whiskey, Rye Whiskey, Nouveau Gin, and an easy-drinking Digestive; each one treating the best raw ingredients with respect from field to glass. Distillery of Modern Art’s vision of intertwining spirits with art, Distillery of Modern Art features bottles with an artistic backdrop created by emerging artists in the community. Creators include Xie Caomi, Juliana Lupacchino, and Josh Jalbert, who showcase their designs—inspired by each spirit—on every bottle produced.
“This project took time to perfect. I want it to truly be seen as a creative space and a work of art itself as well,” says Distillery of Modern Art founder Seth Watson. “Creating a space that seamlessly intertwines multiple aspects of a distillery and an art gallery has been rewarding because it has created an area for people who share similar sentiments to gather and simply enjoy.”
Distillery of Modern Art will soon offer guided tours of its beautiful facility. For only $15 per guest, groups of 10 or less can enjoy a refreshing welcome cocktail while learning about how Distillery of Modern Art came to be, how we make our spirits and all the details of our building and brand. The interactive, step-by-step walkthrough of the distillation process is a riveting, activity-friendly outing for friends, family, and co-workers. For larger parties, guests can take advantage of either the 735-square foot Kandinsky Tasting Room, 861-square foot Watson Gallery, or 2,800-square foot Rothko Room. These contemporary and lofty spaces can complement an array of bustling celebrations.

They are currently open from 5 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
