Wild Heaven Beer Announces Third Location
Wild Heaven Beer proudly announces its third brewery and taproom location, set to open in early 2024 in the venerable and re-energized Toco Hill Shopping Center in DeKalb County. The new location will feature an onsite brewery, distillery and be a part of Wild Heaven’s new farm winery program, allowing house-made beer, wine and cocktails to be available. Taking the concept to another level, Georgia’s leading barbecue brand, Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q, will operate the kitchen featuring their famed meats smoked onsite. Customers will enjoy the opportunity to order Wild Heaven beverages and Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q all at once in a single transaction.
Wild Heaven co-founder and brewmaster Eric Johnson will continue to oversee beverage operations across all Wild Heaven locations and distribution footprint while Head Brewer Josh Franks is promoted to Brewmaster for the Toco Hill location. Franks plans to brew a series of beers unique to the location along with featuring Wild Heaven favorites like Emergency Drinking Beer, Sunburst IPA, White Blackbird Saison and Euro-Style Pilsner.
Sarah Young, Wild Heaven EVP says, “We’ve had the privilege of working with the Fox Bros. team and their extended BBQ family over the past decade and I feel incredibly fortunate to continue growing our friendship with this project. The creative potential between our brands is quite exciting and we’re looking forward to creating a fun, laid-back spot for the neighborhood. “It’s always a great pairing when you get to work together with your friends,” says Jonathan Fox of Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q. “We’re planning a menu of our greatest hits plus a few new creative spins, just for this location.”
“We were drawn to this incredible spot due to the kind of secret courtyard tucked into a commercial center that has been a part of the fabric of Atlanta for decades. Looking around the area, there seemed to be a missing element and the chance to fill a void was too tempting to resist,” says Wild Heaven President Nick Purdy. He added “I can’t help but note that seeing Eric push Josh Franks to the fore at this location gives us a chance to show off the incredible amount of brewing talent on our roster. And the chance to enhance our relationship with the Fox Bros. team is the no-brainer to end all no-brainers.”
The 5240-square foot space features a kitchen, taproom, brewery/distillery with a special “brewery bar” allowing guests to observe brewing operations while enjoying a pint and a special event space for parties, luncheons and other gatherings of up to 50-60 attendees. The space surrounds a courtyard featuring two beautiful, mature trees and will be redeveloped into a patio space sure to be a popular feature. Construction is expected to start in late summer with a targeted opening in early 2024. Dooley Mack Construction, who handled the buildout at Wild Heaven’s West End location in 2019, returns to helm the Toco project.
“EDENS could not be more excited to see two iconic Atlanta brands join together here at Toco Hill,” said Herbert Ames, Managing Director at EDENS, “The addition of Wild Heaven Beer and Fox Brothers BBQ is a capstone to the center’s redevelopment, and is a testament to how the district has evolved.”
