The Elder Tree Public House Evolves Into New Concept: The Pub At Eav
Exciting changes are afoot at one of East Atlanta Village’s most beloved spots. The Elder Tree Public House, a cherished community fixture, is embarking on a new journey to become The Pub @ EAV. From its origins as Blue Frog Cantina, through the many years and changes as Elder Tree, this space has always held a special place in the hearts of locals. Now, it’s set to bring the community an elevated experience while honoring its storied past.
Under the guidance of industry veteran Kasie Scott, acclaimed chef Mike LaSage, and renowned mixologist Bree Towry, The Pub @ EAV will retain the lively spirit of Elder Tree. Come late summer/early fall, the 2830-square-foot space will bloom into an inviting, airy community pub designed to invoke a sense of warmth and welcome. Reminiscent of a modern traditional British pub, guests can expect a mix of classic elements with contemporary features, creating a cozy atmosphere ideal for gathering while exploring executive chef LaSage’s dynamic menu of globally inspired eats.
In addition to offering great food, service, and experiences, the team at The Pub @ EAV is committed to building a welcoming atmosphere that fosters connections, celebrates diversity, and contributes positively to the neighborhood.
“When I moved to East Atlanta in 2021, I found my community within the East Atlanta Village,” says Scott, owner of The Pub @ EAV. “It’s my hope to create an atmosphere of belonging and pride among patrons and staff alike, ensuring everyone feels at home in this new, yet familiar, community hub.”
A welcoming haven for dinner, late-night eats, and Sunday brunch, guests will be greeted with lush, live plants and refreshing decor boasting muted greens and blues, dark wood, custom tile, and comfortable seating. Picture exposed brick walls, rotating art from local artists, and an expansive copper-topped bar that evokes the charm of a traditional British pub. The refresh, featuring two large garage door openings facing Flat Shoals Avenue, will include additional outdoor seating options, outdoor seating areas at the front and back entrances, and dedicated entertainment area for live music and more. Allowing for flexibility, the new flow and intentional designs makes it an ideal spot for private meetings and events.
Patrons can look forward to savoring global fare with a local flair crafted by Chef LaSage, formerly of Bone Lick BBQ, P’cheen International Bistro & Pub, The Edgewood Speakeasy, and The Music Room. Menu highlights will include a Cuban Pop Tart with ham, smoky pork, Swiss cheese, house pickles, and spicy mustard; Fish & Chips; a Scotch Egg Benny, a decadent mix of a soft egg, sausage-wrapped, breaded and fried, laid in a Kennebec potato nest, fresh herb foliage, hollandaise, and herbed cream; and a rotating selection of noodles and pasta dishes from different corners of the world. LaSage will close out the weekend with his Sunday Roasts featuring rotating British pub-style roasts with all the fixins, available for both dine-in and takeaway. A seasoned caterer and curator of unforgettable events, it’s no surprise that Chef LaSage will add catering services for corporate and private events to the haunts lineup of offerings.
“With the help and support of the community, we envision The Pub becoming the heartbeat of East Atlanta Village. Our goal is to offer a platform for cultural exchange through a globally inspired menu, a thoughtful cocktail program, and vibrant experiences—from events and pop-ups to initiatives that spotlight our favorite local causes,” says Chef LaSage.
The Pub @ EAV will feature an exciting mix of weekly music programming, interactive games ranging from darts to poker for connecting with family and friends, curated pop-up activations, and ample areas to watch favorite sports teams in action
