The Big Ketch Saltwater Grill Unveils its Biggest Update Since 2010
For more than 15 years, The Big Ketch Saltwater Grill has given Atlantans and visitors alike a place to gather over oysters, lobster rolls and cold drinks, where an ordinary weeknight can feel a little closer to the coast. This August, the Buckhead favorite enters its next chapter with its biggest update since opening in 2010, introducing new interiors, an expanded seafood menu and a new cocktail menu while holding onto the easygoing charm that has made it a neighborhood staple.
Inside, lighter finishes, warm woods and coastal textures create an atmosphere that feels open, relaxed and unmistakably seaside. A custom mural by Atlanta artist Meg Mitchell anchors the dining room, joined by vintage-inspired artwork, collected pieces and a wall of photographs that give the restaurant the character of a well-loved coastal spot. Above the bar hangs a mounted tarpon, a gift from a longtime guest that comes with its own story, reminding visitors that every great seafood restaurant has a fish tale worth telling. Outside, updated lighting, new furnishings and brighter colors make the patio an even better place for oysters, cocktails and dinner with friends.
Fresh seafood remains at the center of the menu, with new additions spanning everything from the raw bar to signature entrées. Guests can start with Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice, Shrimp & Crab Au Gratin or a daily selection of raw and Charbroiled Oysters before moving on to Fried Lobster Tacos, Tuna Poke Bowl, Coastal Seafood Spaghettini and Sweet Potato Crusted Rainbow Trout. The lobster roll lineup now includes Old Bay and Mojo variations, while Lobster Dip offers The Big Ketch’s take on a French dip with warm buttered lobster served alongside lobster bisque for dipping. New favorites like French Onion Dip, Key Lime Avocado Dip, Smoked Gouda Mac & Cheese, Key West Chicken and the Beach House Double Cheeseburger round out the expanded menu, while longtime guest favorites remain firmly in place.
Fresh citrus, herbs and premium spirits shape the cocktail menu with additions including the Sapelo Dockside Spritz, Shipwreck Colada, Beach Bonfire and Bourbon Banana Hammock. Georgia craft beers, sparkling wines, crisp whites and rosés pair naturally with everything from oysters to lobster rolls and the day’s catch.
