4 “Grape” Wines to celebrate National Pinot Noir Day with from Boone’s

After a long hot summer, there is no better way to “un-wine” than with wine from Boone’s award-winning wine program on National Pinot Noir Day this Friday, August 18th, 2023. Known for their expansive and acclaimed drink offerings, Boone’s Food and Beverage Director and wine connoisseur, Austin Rocconi, is sharing his all-time favorite Pinot Noirs that will guarantee a very happy hour. Available by either bottle or glass, make sure to try Austin’s picks at the neighborhood haunt overlooking Bobby Jones Golf Course or grab a bottle at your favorite liquor store to enjoy at home.

Austin’s Top Pinot Noir Picks:

  1. Summer is not over yet, and Lingua Franca “Mimi’s Mind” out of Eola-Amity Hills, OR is the perfect refreshing taste that lingers. Known for its layered flavor of fresh herbs and strong floral notes of rose petal and violet, it definitely fits the warm weather. Available by bottle.
  2. For those that are ready for fall, Susie Bynam is a family-owned business out of Russian River Valley, CA whose pinot noir encapsulates the cozy feel with an aroma of baking spices and a strong, silky taste of morello cherry with hints of dark chocolate, thyme and an oak flavor. Available by glass.
  3. Using fresh grapes from Willamette Valley, OR, Kate Arnold, is an enjoyable wine with a taste of tart cherry, strawberry and cinnamon that has an elegant finish. Available by glass.
  4. For a layered and complex taste, Williams Selyem, from Bucher Vineyard in Russian River Valley, CA, tastes of red fruits and lavender with a citrus kick. This ruby red wine is not one to miss. Available by bottle.
