Natalie Bianca Brings Charming Southern Comfort to Cascade Heights
Now open in Cascade Heights, Natalie Bianca is restauranteur Jamshad ‘Jaamy’ Zarnegar’s second Atlanta culinary offering. Like his first venture, Kitty Dare in Inman Park, Jaamy’s newest dining spot is named after a dear, departed friend and is inspired by the spirit of this historic Southwest Atlanta neighborhood, boasting an undeniable warmth and subtle charm that makes every guest feel like a regular upon arrival. The thoughtful menu, which complements the communal mood of the open floor plan and no fuss decor, features Jaamy’s spin on New Southern cuisine punctuated with various influences including vibrant Mexican flavors. With a full bar, the cocktail program includes a selection of curated cocktails, all named after women Jaamy knows, impressive wines by the glass, beers and non-alcoholic options.
Painted in a cheerful yellow with clean black accents, the one-story brick facade features two large windows and a glass door, offering passersby a glimpse into the bustling 1,980-square-foot restaurant. Inside, an open kitchen and a framed picture of the restaurant’s namesake, the late Natalie Bianca, overlook the dining room and bar area. The interior reflects the exterior’s bright, welcoming palette, enhanced by soft browns and shades of grey. With ample seating and a 16-seat bar, the space is ideal for both large parties and private events. Intimate outdoor seating is available at the entrance, with plans to expand al fresco dining options in the near future.
The flavor-forward menu, designed for sharing, sets the tone for the overall experience, rooted in the spirit of breaking bread and fostering a sense of community. Small plates include griddle-fried green tomatoes topped with red onion rounds and a creamy sweet onion and bacon sauce, potato onion pancakes, and black bean crepes, along with homemade polenta cakes and a smoked salmon quesadilla. For the larger plates, highlights include three burger options (including a seasonal vegan offering), wild-caught salmon with creamy Southern grits, Miss Natalie’s Shrimp Pasta in a creamy tomato sauce with toasted breadcrumbs, slow-cooked boneless beef short rib, and a three-cheese stuffed chicken breast topped with honey walnut sauce. Seasonal salads, soups, and a kids’ menu are also available, along with desserts like Paige’s Peach Pound Cake, homemade churros, chocolate walnut pie, locally made Voga gelato, and Aikrimu ice cream.
