Wild Heaven x EATS: The Next Chapter of an Atlanta Institution
Some restaurants become part of a city’s routine. Others become part of its memory. For more than 30 years, EATS was both. A place defined by familiarity, comfort, and food that showed up exactly as promised. When the original location closed, it marked the end of a long run and left a noticeable absence in Atlanta’s dining landscape.
In 2026, EATS will take up residence inside Wild Heaven Beer’s West End location at Lee + White, marking a new era for one of Atlanta’s most enduring restaurant names. Wild Heaven will become the steward of the EATS brand, continuing its legacy from its West End brewery. The move comes as Wild Heaven West End’s current kitchen partner, El Tesoro, prepares to transition out of the taproom space and continue operating elsewhere within the Lee + White development.
“EATS has been part of Atlanta’s culinary DNA for decades,” said Nick Purdy, Wild Heaven Co-President. “We’re honored to carry that torch forward. Our goal is to preserve what people have always loved about EATS while giving it a thoughtful, sustainable home inside our West End brewery. The goal isn’t to be an EATS tribute band but to reach 99% fidelity to the experience so many Atlantans treasure. Eric and I couldn’t be prouder to have a chance to steward the next chapter of EATS.”
The transition is supported by EATS founder Bob Hatcher, with longtime EATS manager Levi Nichols joining the next phase to help maintain continuity across the food, the team, and the guest experience.
“Just when I thought it was over, I was approached by a group adamant about keeping the EATS brand alive. Longtime customers and friends, Brent and Amity Dey, along with Wild Heaven Brewery owners, Nick and Eric,” said Hatcher. “With longstanding EATS manager Levi Nichols on board, I’m excited for this next chapter and to welcome our loyal community back to their favorite booths.”
Guests can expect a familiar EATS experience rooted in the flavors and approach that made the restaurant a fixture for generations of Atlantans, now housed within Wild Heaven’s West End brewery. Menu details, timing, and additional updates will be shared in the coming months on WIld Heaven’s Instagram at @beerwildheaven.
