Y Bar e Ristorante Opens in Buckhead Village
Without a ribbon cutting or countdown clock, Y Bar e Ristorante quietly opened its doors over the weekend, inviting guests to discover it the same way some of the best places are found: by stumbling upon it.
The newest concept from Y Hospitality, the team behind Yeppa & Co., Storico Fresco, Forza Storico, and Villa Yeppa, Y Bar occupies the former Storico Vino and Pachengo spaces in Buckhead Village. Inspired by the cafés, bars and gathering places of Italy during the 1960s, Y Bar draws on the simple pleasures of sharing a meal, ordering another round and spending an evening with news and old friends alike. While every Y Hospitality concept has its own identity, Y Bar reflects the group’s enduring belief that to go forward we must go back, and the most memorable evenings happen naturally around a table.
Guests enter through beaded curtains adorned with Y Bar’s signature logo on Peachtree Road, where the ristorante instantly transports guests to a bygone era, where candlelight, conversation and Italian hospitality shape the experience from the moment they arrive. Anchored by a striking U-shaped bar, the room unfolds as if it has evolved over a lifetime rather than a space designed all at once. Deep woods, brass and antique silver are layered with furnishings sourced throughout Italy, vintage lamps draped in scarves, a rotary telephone, weathered books, handwritten notes and found objects collected over decades.
Sketches by Federico Fellini spill across the walls and ceiling, while family photographs mingle with vintage prints, found objects, and whimsical rhinoceros motifs tucked throughout. Together, the moody space feels like stepping into a nostalgic memory of Italy, filtered through Fellini’s imagination, inviting guests to become part of the story rather than simply observe it.
Inspired by simpler times, the experience naturally extends beyond the dining room. A full window wall boasts high-top seating and opens onto a covered patio furnished with charming wooden bistro tables, creating a seamless connection between the restaurant and the outdoors. Just beyond, a terraced outdoor seating area tucked into the pedestrian alley evokes the lively piazzas of Santarcangelo di Romagna, offering another inviting place for cocktails and conversation.
Like the space itself, the menu is rooted in memory. Built around the places and flavors of Y Hospitality founder Stephen Peterson’s hometown of Rimini, Italy, it reflects favorite family recipes, beloved local restaurants and the everyday traditions of the region. Dishes ranging from Burro e Alici and Beef Tartare to Prosciutto e Piadina, Pinzimonio and Cacio e Burro sit alongside playful signatures like Aunt Becky’s Artichoke Dip and “I’m Workin’ With 3 Inches,” balancing tradition with unexpected moments. The cocktail program celebrates Italy’s aperitivo culture with signatures including the Bruschetta Martini, Coppa de Nonno, Negroni Fruttato and Margarita Pizza. Complementing the menu, the wine list features celebrated Italian producers alongside selections from Enio Ottaviani Winery, Y Hospitality’s longtime winery partner in Italy.
As with all of Y Hospitality’s concepts, the restaurant also pays tribute to the man who inspired it all. Peterson’s mentor, Roberto, was known simply as “Yeppa” for the joyful expression he’d often exclaim whenever something delighted him. He became one of the most influential people in Peterson’s life, shaping not only his appreciation for Italian hospitality, but his belief that the people around the table matter far more than the table itself. That spirit lives throughout Y Bar, where every detail was chosen to make guests feel genuinely welcomed.
“Yeppa had a way of making everyone around him feel like they belonged,” says Peterson. “He’d walk into a room, shout ‘Yeppa!’ and suddenly everyone was smiling. Growing up in Rimini, I watched complete strangers become friends over a bottle of wine, a simple meal and a few hours together. Nobody was in a hurry. That’s what stayed with me all these years, and that’s what I wanted to bring to Atlanta. Y Bar isn’t about recreating a place. It’s about recreating that feeling.”
Y Bar e Ristorante is now open Tuesday through Thursday from 5 p.m. to midnight and Friday and Saturday from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m., with 21+ entry beginning at 9 p.m. nightly, at 3065 Peachtree Road NE in Buckhead Village.
