The Rink at Park Tavern in Piedmont Park to Open for the Season Thanksgiving Day

The Rink at Park Tavern in Piedmont Park will glide back into the hearts of Atlantans on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 26, 2015, when it opens for the 2015-2016 season.  Located in the spacious Garden Tent at Park Tavern on the Atlanta BeltLine, this favorite Intown holiday tradition will once again feature modern amenities for day and night skating including a covered rink that is 85 feet long and 40 feet wide and comfortably accommodates 200. Open through Presidents Day, Monday, February 16, 2016, Atlantans and visitors alike can enjoy unforgettable ice skating experiences including all day skate sessions, Frozen-themed children’s birthday parties, ‘Skate After 8′ for ages 18 and up, and a number of special events including a high-energy NYE show courtesy of Yacht Rock Revue. Starting at just $15 to skate all day on non-peak season days, The Rink provides high quality rental skates that are professionally sharpened.

While skaters stay warm under The Rink’s beautiful heated tent with a state-of-the-art sound system, observers are invited to sit back and relax under Park Tavern’s recently renovated, covered patio that features plenty of seating, stone fire pits, flat screen TVs, private cabanas, holiday decorations and much more.  With rink and park-side dining available, throughout the season patrons can indulge in homemade hot chocolate, specialty seasonal cocktails, house-made brews, 1/2 price wine bottles every Wednesday, 1/2 off sushi from 10 p.m. to midnight, cooking s’mores over the fire pints, and much more while taking in views of Piedmont Park and Midtown’s picturesque skyline. RADIO 105.7 ATLANTA PRESENTS SUNSET SESSIONS AT PARK TAVERN IN PIEDMONT PARK

This spring and summer, music lovers can take advantage of Sunset Sessions – a new, weekly alternative music series at Park Tavern in Piedmont Park. Radio 105.7 and Park Tavern have joined forces to bring Atlantans and visitors alike an incredible lineup of live music from some of today’s most buzz-worthy artists every Sunday for free. Kicking off on April 26 with Bad Suns, The Electric Sons, and Kiev, the new concert series will be held under the spacious, air conditioned Garden Tent, which boasts Piedmont Park and the Midtown Skyline as its backdrop. The free concert series will run through Sunday, September 6, 2015; every show is from 7 to 11 p.m. and guests must be 21+ older to attend. 12TH ANNUAL OYSTER CRAWFISH FESTIVAL FEATURING COWBOY MOUTH TAKES OVER PARK TAVERN IN PIEDMONT PARK

For the past eleven years thousands of music and food loving festivalgoers gather annually on the Southwest Porch at Park Tavern in Piedmont Park to celebrate the Oyster Crawfish Festival. For the 12th installment on Saturday, March 28, Park Tavern will once again serve up approximately ten thousand pounds of fresh Louisiana crawfish that are brought in the night before - making it Atlanta’s biggest crawfish festival. Park Tavern will also serve fresh, regional fried, raw, and steamed oysters, delicious fried oyster, shrimp and chicken baskets, Abita brews, Bacardi cocktails and more.

Featuring live music performances throughout the day, Wasted Potential Brass Brand, known for its New Orleans standards, sarcastic pop, blues, funk and hip hop will get the crowd going before Mudcat takes the stage playing their Delta-style blues mixed with funk, ragtime, gospel, Cajun, jazz, vaudeville and Georgia blues. The annual spring celebration will welcome back Cowboy Mouth, the hard-hitting band out of New Orleans known for its unique style of ‘rock and roll gumbo’ and high energy shows, as its headliner.

The festival begins at 2 p.m. Ages 21 and under are allowed to attend the event when accompanied by a parent. Children 12 and under will not be charged admission.
